BELLEAIR, Fla. (AP) — Emily Kristine Pederson had six birdies in her opening 10 holes and held on for a 5-under 65 on Friday, giving her a two-shot lead in The Annika and moving the Danish player two rounds closer to earning a spot in the LPGA Tour season finale.Pederson dropped three shots over her final seven holes at Pelican Golf Club as the wind picked up late in the morning. Part of her wishes her 65 could have been lower.“It got a little bit more windy out there and my back nine was not as I hoped,” Pederson said. “I hit a few uncommitted golf shots that I’m a little bit mad at myself about. A South Florida man has filed a federal lawsuit against the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, alleging deputies used excessive force when they repeatedly deployed Tasers on a 20-year-old man in the aftermath of a 2022 crash.In addition to MCSO, the lawsuit also names Monroe County Sheriff Rick Ramsay and the three deputies involved in the July 3, 2022 incident that, Jordan Rivero said, changed his life forever.The incident unfolded as captured by body camera video, showing Rivero being removed from a mangled vehicle following a crash on the Florida Turnpike.Riding home from a fishing trip in the Florida Keys, the truck that Rivero was riding in collided with a concrete pole, leading to a chaotic scene.Rivero shared his account of the incident with 7News on Friday.“As we were going to leave, they were going to fish another bridge on the way home, but I was pretty much tired, so I went in the truck to get some rest, and that’s all I remember from that point,” he ...

The judge in Peter Nygard’s sexual assault trial is urging the jury to keep deliberating after they asked how to proceed if they can’t reach a unanimous decision on one of the counts.The jury, which has been deliberating since late Wednesday afternoon, also asked the judge Friday evening to define a “significant” amount of time as it relates to unlawful confinement. Justice Robert Goldstein told them that, in this case, a significant period of time means it’s more than momentary and “appreciable,” with no minimum requirement.  Nygard, the 82-year-old founder of a now-defunct women’s fashion company, has pleaded not guilty to five counts of sexual assault and one count of forcible confinement in alleged incidents ranging from the 1980s to mid-2000s.Five complainants have testified that they were invited to Nygard’s Toronto headquarters under pretences ranging from tours to job interviews, with all encounters ending in a top-fl...

CHICAGO — Police say two men are dead and a third is badly injured after someone fired shots into a car on the city's South Side. According to Chicago police, the deadly shooting happened just before 4:30 p.m. in the 4400 block of West 81st Street in Ashburn. CHICAGO — A 16-year-old boy is dead after a shooting late Friday morning in the City's Austin neighborhood, according to multiple sources.According to the Chicago Police Department, a 16-year-old boy was standing in the hallway of a residence in the 5000 block of West Madison Street around 11:10 a.m. when two unknown offenders opened fire on him.After first responders arrived on the scene, the 16-year-old boy — later identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office (CCMEO) as Keshaun Rhodes — was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition with gunshot wounds to the back of his head and abdomen.According to the CCMEO, Rhodes was pronounced dead later that day, on Friday afternoon. St. Paul’s Clutch Brewing Company announced on social media that it is going out of business at the end of the year.The brewer, which is one of the main tenants in the Keg & Case Market at the old Schmidt Brewery on West Seventh Street, said it’s had a wild five years in business and made the announcement with a “heavy heart.”“So many good times were had and providing a one-of-a-kind, safe, accepting, warm place to enjoy a delicious, locally-made beer has been an absolute honor for us.”The brewery noted that were many factors in the decision to close, but ultimately it was not “sustainable” to keep the brewery running.“Also, we still have plenty of beer to be consumed! Man killed in south St. Louis County road-rage shooting, suspect charged

FENTON, Mo. - St. Louis County Police are investigating a fatal road rage incident that happened Friday at Highway 141 just south of Gravois Bluffs. The suspect is in police custody.  The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office has charged Robert Mulkey, 53. of Crystal City, Missouri, with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the shooting. Police were called to the scene just after 8 a.m. when drivers in the area called 911 to report a hazard on the road. When they arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound.
