Fanatics and the New England Patriots hosted a local Merch Madness: Fan Gear Giveaway event for invited guests from local Boys & Girls Clubs at Gillette Stadium on Tuesday that drew Pats and Celtics stars.More than 300,000 pieces of licensed apparel (with a retail value of approximately $15 million) will be donated to underserved youth and their families in markets across the country. The merchandise donated includes a combination of jerseys, T-shirts, hoodies, hats, jackets and more.Attendees included Patriots Chairman and CEO Robert Kraft, Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin, Patriots defensive backs Jonathan Jones and Jalen Mills, hip-hop star Lil’ Baby, Boston Celtics stars Jayson Tatum and Grant Williams.

A 23-year-old woman has been ordered held on $10,000 cash bail after prosecutors say she tried to cash in a $3 million Massachusetts state lottery ticket that was never hers to claim.Carly Nunes is accused of trying to cash in the ticket in January after a man came into the Lakeville convenience store where she used to work, bought potato chips and lottery tickets that he forgot to grab before leaving, according to court documents.Soon after, prosecutors say another customer came in and handed the tickets back to Nunes, who was caught on surveillance camera with her boyfriend and her coworker, Joseph Reddem, celebrating after attempting to redeem the ticket at the state lottery headquarters.When state police pulled the store’s surveillance video, they found that neither Nunes, her boyfriend, or her coworker bought the ticket.After weeks of canvassing, the ticket’s rightful owner, Paul Little, was located and now he stands to take home the prize money.He said, “I fi...

An Amber Alert issued by Montreal police for six-year-old twin sisters has been lifted after the girls were found safe.Police say the girls were found in the Saint-Alexis-des-Monts area, about 140 kilometres north of Montreal.Police also say they found the girls’ mother and that everyone was safe and sound.Police believe it may have been a kidnapping but say the investigation continues.The alert was issued after the girls were taken in the mid-afternoon.Police say investigators will speak with the mother and the girls to determine exactly what happened.This report by The Canadian Press was first published June 27, 2023.The Canadian Press
