The engine of a northbound Tri-Rail train caught fire as it approached the Golden Glades Station in North Miami-Dade. All passengers on board were evacuated safely and unharmed by the flames.The incident occurred on Thursday just after 10 p.m. when Miami-Dade Fire Rescue units responded to the scene of the blaze and were able to extinguish the fire quickly.A cellphone video captured the burning engine and a firefighter at the scene, highlighting the intensity of the situation.According to a spokesperson from Tri-Rail, the train was the last northbound train of the night. Bacterial outbreak causes 31 infections in a Seattle hospital

(CNN) — A Seattle medical center is reporting 31 confirmed cases of a bacterial infection since October, according to a news release from the Virginia Mason Medical Center. The most recent confirmed case was identified on April 3.“Beginning in October 2022, Virginia Mason Medical Center detected an increase in cases of Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteria at our downtown campus,” Sydney Bersante, Virginia Mason Medical Center’s interim president said in the statement. “We immediately implemented increased safety measures, notified patients who had tested positive for the bacteria, and promptly provided treatment where necessary.”Bersante added that while the “risk of transmission is extremely low for patients,” the medical center is investigating the source of transmission and is taking precautions to prevent additional cases.Klebsiella is a type of bacteria that lives in the intestines that can lead to illnesses in healthcare settings such ...

(CNN) — Researchers have embarked on an ambitious global initiative to discover and record marine life hidden in the world’s oceans.Ocean Census aims to identify 100,000 unknown species in the next 10 years, allowing scientists to better understand and protect the deep-sea ecosystem.There are huge gaps in our knowledge of the ocean depths. Dutch court orders man who fathered 550 kids to stop donating sperm

A Dutch judge has ordered a “mass sperm donor” who’s already fathered at least 550 children to stop donating.The man donated sperm in the Netherlands and abroad, including to Danish sperm bank Cryos, but also offered his sperm up via online platforms.He donated to at least 11 Dutch fertility clinics, which imposed a maximum of 25 children in 12 families per donor, while making false promises that he hadn’t offered his sperm elsewhere and wouldn’t do so in the future. (AP) — A former New Hampshire college volunteer basketball coach who is accused of sexually abusing children and making child sex abuse photos and videos has filed a sealed notice of intent to plead guilty, weeks before jury selection was scheduled for his trial.The document was filed in Merrimack County Superior Court on Wednesday in the case of Joshua Pincoske.
