St. Louis Music Park organizers plan to keep concertgoers cool in the dangerous heat

MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. - St. Louis Music Park is getting set for the Amplified Echoes tour of Jimmy Eat World and the Manchester Orchestra on Thursday afternoon.“We have water hydration systems in place for fans,” said Sue Silverstein, director of St. Louis Music Park. “We’re allowing fans to bring in an extra factory-sealed bottle of water, so they can stay hydrated through the entire event, so they can enjoy it while they’re here.”The massive fans that were recently installed will move air.Outside the venue, in the shadow of Hollywood Casino, St. Louis Music Park will have misters as well.Cavetown and their Bittersweet Daze tour will perform on Friday. Randy Meisner, a founding member of the Eagles who added high harmonies to such favorites as “Take It Easy” and “The Best of My Love” and stepped out front for the waltz-time ballad “Take It to the Limit,” has died, the band said Thursday.Meisner died Wednesday night in Los Angeles of complications from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, the Eagles said in a statement. He was 77.The bassist had endured numerous afflictions in recent years and personal tragedy in 2016 when his wife, Lana Rae Meisner, accidentally shot herself and died. A man accused in a series of assaults against women in Los Angeles is being held without bail. Sergio Andrew Garcia, 21, was scheduled to be arraigned during a court appearance Thursday, but the matter was continued until Aug. 17. A beloved neighborhood donut shop in Los Angeles is being forced to close after serving the surrounding community for decades. Known for their coffee, croissants, their kindness and, of course, their donuts, Ms. Donut has been  a gathering place for those in the Echo Park and Silver Lake neighborhoods some 60 years.  “This place is like family to me,” customer Conrado Terrazascross told KTLA. “I’ve been coming here since they owned it.”  The owner of the building, which is located at Glendale Boulevard and Montana Street, has decided to sell the property and the hard-working family owners of Ms. Donut are being evicted.  “The American dream is kind of broken,” one of the owners of the donut shop, Annenn, told KTLA. “It’s painful. Oxnard man sentenced for house party stabbing death

An Oxnard man was sentenced to prison Thursday for a deadly house party stabbing in 2020.Librado Ruiz Rojo, 22, faces anywhere from 16 years to life in prison for the murder of Carlos Murillo, according to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office.He pled guilty to one felony count of second-degree murder with a special allegation that he killed Murillo with a knife.On Jan. 26, 2020, Oxnard police officers responded to reports of a stabbing at a home on the 3000 block of Sycamore Street shortly after 12:30 a.m.Investigators learned that as Murillo and a group of friends were leaving the party, the suspect, Rojo, challenged them to a fight.A physical altercation broke out between the two men when Rojo stabbed Murillo multiple times, court documents said.When officers arrived at the scene, Murillo was pronounced dead.
